Project Overview

TalentRH is a Human Capital Management (HCM) platform designed to support Brazilian companies in managing their people operations end-to-end, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and HR administration. The product serves HR professionals who operate in a highly regulated environment and need to balance operational efficiency, legal compliance, and a good employee experience.

As a UX/UI Designer, I worked closely with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to deeply understand HR processes, Brazilian labor rules, and real user pain points. Through user research, workflow mapping, and continuous validation, I translated complex operational logic into clear interfaces, well-structured information architecture, and consistent interaction patterns.

The outcome was a more cohesive HCM experience that reduced cognitive load for HR teams, improved task efficiency, and established a solid foundation for a scalable design system aligned with TalentRH’s long-term product strategy.

The Problem

While large enterprises often invest in complex HR systems, a significant market opportunity lies with mid-sized companies that lack efficient tools to manage recruitment, onboarding, and talent development. HR teams in these organizations face challenges with fragmented processes, manual tasks, and compliance risks. By addressing these pain points, TalentRH can become an indispensable solution for HR departments.

64%

64% of interviewed HR professionals reported relying on memorized steps or prior experience to complete tasks in the legacy TalentRH system, rather than understanding the interface or receiving guidance from the system itself.

57%

57% of users said they double-check critical HR actions—such as employee updates, salary changes, or terminations—outside the system due to unclear feedback and lack of confirmation during workflows.

23%

Only 23% of participants felt confident using the system without external support (documentation, colleagues, or spreadsheets), highlighting how the legacy interface increases dependency and operational risk.

Persona
Usability Testing

We conducted a usability test with five designers, asking them to recreate an app screen using components from Hoo-Dini's design system. We observed how they navigated the library and refined the structure based on their behavior.

Three participants relied on search rather than browsing, so we optimized component names, tags, and keywords to better match their mental models and improve discoverability.

Impact & Takeaways

Designing TalentRH as a scalable HR platform transformed complex people-management processes into clear, structured experiences. The product evolved into a system that supports decision-making, compliance, and daily operations—reducing cognitive load for HR teams while remaining flexible for different organizational realities.

01

HR products are deeply driven by rules, policies, and legal constraints. Understanding these rules early allowed the interface to guide users naturally through complex flows, minimizing errors and making compliance an integrated part of the experience rather than a friction point.

03

TalentRH required thinking in terms of reusable components and patterns. Developing a scalable design system ensured consistency across modules, accelerated future development, and allowed the product to evolve without redesigning core experiences from scratch.
